Premium partners
A Premium partner earns a level-2 commission: a share of the payments of the customers that the partners they recruited bring. This page explains how to make a partner Premium, what the recruit link does, and what happens when you remove Premium.
How level 2 works
Max is a Premium partner with a level-2 rate of 5%. Max recruits André. André brings a customer who pays €100 (the commission base). André earns his own commission, for example 30%, which is €30. Max earns 5% of the same base, which is €5, as a separate commission. Level 2 is added on top: it never reduces André's commission.
Level 2 goes one level up only. If André recruits Lisa, Lisa's customers pay Lisa and André, never Max.
Level-2 commissions have the same hold period, approval, refunds and payouts as other commissions. One payout to Max holds both kinds.
Make a partner Premium
- Open Partners and click the partner.
- In Level-2 commission, enter the rate. The field proposes 5%.
- Click Make Premium.
Only an approved partner can become Premium. Approving an application never sets a rate: these are two separate actions.
Change the rate
Enter the new rate and click Save. The new rate applies to every customer on whom the partner already holds a level-2 claim, from the next payment that Selgeo processes. Commissions already created keep their rate.
The recruit link
A Premium partner finds the recruit link on the programme page of the partner portal, under Invite partners. The link opens your programme's application page with a random code. The code holds no partner ID and no email.
A person who opens the link sees who invited them, and which of their data that partner will see: their name, status, number of paying customers and the revenue the partner's commission is based on. That partner never sees their email or their customers' data.
You approve the application as usual. The new partner is then linked to the Premium partner. A recruit link never changes the recruiter of a partner who has already joined the programme. A code of a partner who is not an approved Premium partner is ignored, and the application works as without it.
When a level-2 claim is set
A Premium partner earns level 2 on a customer through a level-2 claim. The claim is set at the customer's first payment above 0:
- A trial or a 100% coupon sets no claim. The first paid invoice after it does.
- The recruiter must be approved and Premium at that moment. A customer who arrived while the recruiter was not Premium gives no claim later, even when the recruiter is Premium again.
Remove Premium
Click Clear rate. The recruit link stops working, and new customers give the partner no level-2 claims.
Removing Premium does not stop the payments on existing customers. The partner keeps earning level 2 on every customer they already hold a claim on, for as long as that customer pays. When the partner holds claims, Selgeo tells you their number before it clears the rate. The partner portal then shows that the recruit link is off and that these claims keep paying.
To stop those payments, suspend the partner. A suspended partner earns no level-2 commissions. A suspended partner earns no level-1 commissions either.
When you set a rate again, the same recruit link works again.
